POMPETTE (the charming French word for tipsy) is an independent restaurant and wine bar in Summertown, Oxford, from husband and wife duo Pascal and Laura Wiedemann.

At our restaurant, we believe great food starts with great ingredients. That’s why we use only the highest quality, seasonal produce and make everything from scratch — from stocks and sauces to desserts as well as our amazing baguettes. We may be a little more expensive, but every dish reflects the care, time, and craftsmanship that go into creating truly exceptional food.

PRIVATE DINING

OUR PRIVATE DINING ROOM is decorated in a Vintage Elegant style, situated upstairs in the restaurant, perfect for family gatherings, celebrations or a meal with friends. The room is exclusively yours for the afternoon or evening and you will have a dedicated member of our team looking after you.

The room seats parties from 8 to 12 people comfortably, 14 if you are willing to squeeze!

At Pompette, our private dining menus are designed to offer two distinct ways to enjoy time around the table, depending on the style of experience you’re looking for.

Our Seasonal Menu is a more traditional dining format, allowing each guest to choose their own dishes. With a selection of three starters, three mains and two desserts, it offers flexibility and individuality, so everyone can enjoy exactly what they feel like on the day. This menu is priced at £75 per person and works beautifully for groups who prefer a classic, personal dining experience.

In contrast, our Seasonal Sharing Menu is designed to create a more relaxed, convivial atmosphere — much like dining together in our home. The meal begins with a selection of starters served to the table for everyone to share, followed by a main course chosen for the whole group (with tailored options for dietary requirements and vegetarians), and finishes with a dessert shared by the table. This menu encourages a more sociable, interactive experience and is priced at £95 per person.

MENUS

PASCAL has worked in London restaurants for 14 years, beginning his career with Henry Harris at Racine, then opening Terroirs with Ed Wilson where he became Executive Chef, before finally opening Six Portland Road.

Whilst being classically trained in French cookery, and from French roots, his culinary take at Pompette will take inspiration from across Europe and be one of simplicity, comfort and care.

TUESDAYS – MOULES

French seaside classic - Moules à la crème & pommes frites served with a 125ml Picpoul de Pinet.

£24 per person

 WEDNESDAYS – POULET

Plump,  juicy half roast chicken, tarragon jus, frites, mayonnaise, salad and a carafe of House wine  

£48 for two, to share.

 THURSDAYS –STEAK

A mighty onglet steak, dressed in a meaty jus de viande, served with watercress, frites and a glass of House wine.

£28 per person.

VEGETARIAN OPTION (TUES-THURS)

Double baked cheese soufflé, served with a fresh green salad and a glass of house wine
